Just a general question- obviously one that doesn't effect me directly! Does membership of these forums need to be approved by a mod before a person can post, or can people join and post straight away?
Especially at this time of year there will be a lot of interest, people joining etc. Hopefully membership is instant, or approved quickly so that they can join in posting. I've been on forums where I have waited WEEKS to be approved- by that time I'd lost interest. Obviously with fireworks this will be especially true.
Does Forum Membership Have To Be Approved?

I believe that it was Admin approval when I signed up, but you could view the forums before being validated. Not too sure though.

Yes, you can read after you register but it takes a few days to get approved by an Admin to do anything else. It's a good way of doing things IMO. I have a little forum of my own thats private. It keeps down on the BS if you micromanage memberships.

Took a good few weeks for me to be validated. I dunno if it's still the case but when it gets busy around nov 5th it could get worse

I will try to approve registrations on a daily basis, if time allows.

Cool- I've noticed from the data at the bottom of the pages that a lot of "guests" are browsing the Consumer fireworks forum, I was thinking there might be a rush soon as people join up keen and ready for bonfire night!
