I was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Belgium match crackers or any type firework from that region. In a few months time I will be going there and I want to know what to look out for and what to avoid. If any one could give me prices on how much certain one's are that would be great.

They are firecrackers, shouldn't they be dirt cheap?

Take a look on youtube. Dutch fireworks abound. The laws are even less tight in some areas of Belgium.

The Dutch buy them in Belgium becouse they are illegal in Holland and legal in Belgium. Al fireworks containing flash is illegal in Holland I guess... But these crackers are very good, and pretty cheap.

Well it depends what brand you are going to buy, and if you are brave enough to light them!
Personally I don't use them anymore, I like when I can see the fuse burning, that's one of the reasons why they were banned in Holland since the early 70's.

Sadly match crackers have gone down in quality the last couple of years.
There's a huge difference between what I used to buy 10 years ago, and the crap that is available nowadays.
The cheap Chinese imitation ''pirats'' that you can buy for about 3 euro for a box of 100 are pretty useless.
Brands to look for are the German ''Moog Nico'' and ''weco'' these will cost considerably more but you will get a much higher quality product, if you can find them.

Are spanish crackers and "nitrate bangers" still not common in holland? I know these things pack quite a punch for a low price...
