Hey, I'm new to the forum and would like to say hello to all! anyway, my question is, is there any legal legislations about the possesion fuse?, e.g. quick match, visco etc. I would just like to know if there is a legal limit to own, I only have small amounts, but would just like some clarification. :)

Currently to my best knowledge (may not be perfect!)

Fuse is legal

HOWEVER

Putting it in the post is definitely NOT lawful so how are you going to get any.

The slow fuses typ Visco, should be restricted supply items. It is the supplier's choice and responsibility to allow them only to people whom he considers competent. These should be stored to MSER in approved storage. You HAVE read and understood MSER havent you!

Medium speed fuse typ quickmatch and sticky match are again products on restricted supply from a licensed seller. They will usually only supply to professional users with licensed storage and insurance.

Fast fuses typ det cord (cordtex) -very strictly controlled to professional users with specific official police permission and full insurance and storage. ALSO these have no place in fireworks they can overlap from industrial blasting into SFX work

Electric igniters are a UN class of their own and can be bought from some high end firework shops, (the bought ones are much more reliable than made ones)

IN ALL CASES Possession will be looked at according to the likely end use. Also consider that storage should always be to MSER and secure the items against theft.

I know about MSER regulations, I only use the fuse for very small arial shells, and only I have very small amounts of fuse. Thanks for your help, any other posts will be appreciated. :D

Yes, fuse is a strange one. Pretty well all suppliers will classify bulk fuse as Cat.4 since it requires "specialist knowledge" for proper use and therefore is outside the scope of sales to the general public. The fact that a lot of amateur pyros/members of this forum have sufficient knowledge might not wash with the powers that be should they decide to be arkward. However I think there there is a definite case for "amateur" use of fuse and electric igniters since in many cases it would make firing of fireworks safer, the problem is to convince the HSE of this
Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....
