Just as the title says- What interests you about pyrotechics? I'll start with mine.

A Rate of 10 means "very keen and interested indeed" 1 means " no interest at all."

Browsing, shopping for and buying fireworks - 10/10.
Doing private displays, eg family, friends etc- 10/10
Doing Category 4 displays, ie fireworks for a living- 1/10
Watching displays (category 3, 4, demos etc)- 6/10
The manufacture/chemistry of pyrotechnics- 2/10
The history of pyrotechnics- 8/10

Please take the time to reply!

We all enjoy the same hobby, but in many ways WHAT we enjoy may be quite different. So for me, I love to buy fireworks- I spend hours online looking at stock, making my mind up what to buy etc, and I love being in a good fireworks shop. There is nothing I enjoy more than doing a private display. That said, I would never do it for a living, and as such I've never been interested in Cat 4. I enjoy watching displays, but I'd rather be "doing" than watching. I have little interest in the science or construction of fireworks (I buy Cat 3 stuff- let someone else do the constructing for me!) I enjoy history- I used to teach it!

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Thanks for the responces!

Its a good idea, I think, to consider what "gets a persons motor running." We all enjoy fireworks, but WHAT we enjoy can differ somewhat! Me, I'd happily spend all day discussing the drawbacks of Buy one get on free, but would struggle to muster more than a polite nod at any mention of Chem!

For me it is all about the science and the art, skill, and craftsmanship that goes into fireworks manufacture and display.
