I completely agree!!, but I think friday will be more of a "pyro chat" with a few fireworks here and there. I doubt no one will mind...I mean, who's coming friday???

One of the main reasons I wanted to come down friday is to help steve setup for saturday. With the long days (hate them to be honest) theres going to be a couple of presentations, me and phil so far??? and wanted to get things sorted.

Thats right- all I'll bring Friday is some Cat 2 and 3 stuff, as I say. I can understand the concern, though- fair point.

Don't forget too that because darkness is very limited, nothing is going to be going off for very long.

Also, yeah- what is everyone thinking of doing- talks etc?

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

The point Im making is that the event was Saturday full stop, now it seems to have been extended forward by an extra day too and based on past meetings and my experience of them I dont think its a good idea.

More specifically I think its the people firing things on the 2nd day who will bear the brunt of any repercussions as it will be (however few fireworks are supposed to be set off on Friday) the second night of disturbance fro the neighbours. I'm a pyro and Id mind! so I bet they will.

If fireworks are set off on Friday, in my opinion its simply not worth taking the risk of repercussions to be firing on Saturday too. This isnt a remote location without residents to annoy its near a village and homes which those who attended the first meeting will know what I mean by this post.

OK! So that sounds sorted then- Friday is camping day, for anyone who fancies it- Saturday evening is fireworks day.

I'll be camping Friday, hopefully, and so lets cross our fingers that the rain stays off!

I have some nice Cat 3 for Saturday.

Great! Should be fun.

From what I hear, Icarus has some planning applications up ahead - we should do our best to keep the locals sweet... not that the last meet was at all noisy of course :P

Spoke to Icarus today, HE SAID (and it's his land!) Friday is for silent things, smokes, flares etc saturday is for displayed fireworks - likely firing late due to the long day.

I'll get some Cat 1, too. - That is to say- indoor fireworks.

Seriously, if I have time (to buy some) I might do a Cat 1 display- good old 80s throwback!

Well I'm certainly up for a 10 min talk/demo about fusing in general andmy method of making black match. As long as people are still interested.

If portfire is doing his cake making (!) demo, that is certainly worth seeing.

Come on, anyone else up for it? Must be lots of things people have to share.

LOL, thanks phil. Well I was going to give a demo on Bad-mines, and Projection mines or atleast the concept. I know the Maltese do it with shells, but not seen patterns from mines, but if people want a cake demo, i'm quite happy to do so. Lets have a public vote on that one?

Off topic, but heres how the Maltese do it...Link courtesy of Karlfoxman

Why not do both? Two talks/demos would be good. B)
