Stew, If you are in the count please copy the latest list of names from above and add your own to the bottom of the list.

With 6 on the list all must send money!

Hi All

So who exactly is running this course and are they a prominent figure in the industry. How was the framework of the course/exam put together, Sorry to ask so many questions, but before I pay out my money I would like to know that I was being taught by someone who knows what they are talking about lol. If I have missed the answers to these questions in this thread im sorry.

Best wishes

Well I will only put my name down when a date and location are confirmed as I may have to get time off work etc. and may be too far away to be viable!

Steve the trainer is a pro firer and has several years experience. He has designed the whole course in conjunction with "The Insurance Experts" -one of the few fireworks insurers. The course is the only one that covers all the details from firework types and firing, to show planning and business planning and regulatory approval.

The BPA 1 & 2 certs prepare you to be an employed firer, so they leave out all the preparation work from the syllabus. This course covers all you need to start your own business, - except the business! You have to find the work!

The course will almost certainly run on a saturday, and likely be in the Leicestershire area.

If there are 10 names on the list I will pick a date and call for money! If less that 6 actually pay up then the course isn't viable at £160. as we are dividing the cost between us.

Due to the possibility of there being forum tag names here! I will specifically require that participants bring a "hard" form of ID in their real name, to prove their identity AND confirm that they are 18 years old or over.

Well it would appear that if Coop joins the list we are below the magic £150 marker. I know you want 10 names for those that drop out, but I would imagine that having met most of those on the list we should be pretty certain of getting all the cheques in.

So how about it Arthur if we get that magic 7th on the list would you be willing to call in the cheques and get things moving?
Phew that was close.

I have a discussion this weekend (31st May) with someone else about some additional participants. This may get another 5, which will change the pricing for the better, so hang on please!

This course sounds quite interesting and I would certainly be interested if there were enough participants to keep the cost at a reasonable level.

I have considered a number of courses featured elsewhere in the forum but have been unsure as to which would be of the most benefit should I wish to take this hobby to another level. I am aware that insurance is a big issue these days, so that part was most encouraging. However, there are a couple of points I would like to clarify. Would certification via this course be superior to that offered by the other Cat 4 courses commonly available and, perhaps more importantly, would it be recognised by the relevant authorities?

If it is superior in these respects then I would very much like to join you.
