When you see a bloke in bright leathers riding a bike into the car park that will be me.

I look forward to meeting you there, I will be arriving at a similar time and I believe that one other will be showing their face there shortly after.
Phew that was close.

I sincerely hope high-vis stripes aren't a problem; I have the same! There is also a certain inescapable logic in having them when working with others in a dangerous area in near darkness.

I have booked a room at the Melbourne Arms & Cuisine India, Melbourne (UK). The room is cheap (and hopefully cheerful) and a curry sounds just the ticket, washed down with a Cobra beer or three. However, I'd like to apologise in advance to anyone with an aversion to garlic. They still have some rooms left and it's only a 15 minute drive to the venue.

Has anyone been doing any reading for this course?

TonyC

Hi TonyC. Have I missed something. That curry house looks to be about 30 miles from the firing site down mainly country roads, you must be a bloody quick driver to get there in 15 minutes. My sat nav makes it about a 50 minute drive.

If we are going to meet up on the Friday maybe a venue in between would be a good idea to keep the taxi cost sensible.
Phew that was close.

Hi Digger,

I sincerely hope you have missed something... otherwise I will have an unpleasant surprise and a certain organisation will have its reputation severely tarnished. I did consult the AA routeplanner, using the appropriate postcodes as references and, the journey should take about 4 1/2 minutes only. Melbourne is just to the North of Newbold Coleorton. Assuming I am correct I suggest, for your own safety, you treat your sat nav with extreme caution!!!! Only joking... there must be another establishment of the same name, different postcode -probably serves better food aswell!

As I am going to be driving directly from Ipswich, where I am doing a course on Friday, I may arrive rather late that night. Perhaps we will all need to relax over a beer after the course.

See you there. (If I'm very late you will know what happened)

Yep it looks like I had missed something, the route planner took a route down the A42 for some unknown reason.

Look like a curry night then.

Melbourne is only a short drive away.

Target arrival time at the Cross keys is 0900 for introductions etc, then into the course by 1000.

Please keep on topic during the day to ensure that there is time for all necessary subjects to be covered. then we can all get out at a sensible time after the firing.

Well, that was brilliant!

Let me be the first to say thank you to Arthur for all his hard work and persistance in making this happen.

I feel we have taken a quantom leap forward here, both in what we know and in our standing in the 'industry'.

Many thank's to the instructors too, for a lucid, instructive and fun course.
