Looking better now! A few have indicated interest. Target dates saturdays 13 or 20 sept Location Leicestershire or south Nottinghamshire (M1 J 20 - 24)

Target meeting profile; 0930 coffee, 1000 start 1300 lunch, 1700 move to field, 2100 fire something, 2200 go home.

IF non participants want to join us for the use of a firing site this may well be possible.

If Icarus' neighbours will have us back then there is a possible location, If he would rather not then there are two others I have available.

Sounds good, I can make the 20th but not 13th as I have arranged a display for our company and I would like to be there.

Once a few more have decided on the date (hopefully the 20th) let me know your address for posting the cheque to.

20th probably better for me, but could currently make either....

Probably better not to trespass on Icaraus' hospitality again for this, he does quite enough - also don't we need a 'classroom'? I love his barn, but I don't want to sit in it for 12 hours on a cold September day!

Arthur - let me know your details for cheque etc please.

The 20th would be the best, it would seem.

So, great stuff we're finally (hopfully) there :) Arthur I will message you early next week, just to ask and confirm a couple of things

GREAT NEWS

The course IS happening, and the date is 20th september 2008. The start time is 10am Expected finish time is 6 - 7 pm.

There are two choices for the venue; Icarus' field he has OK'd it. and a site in Countesthorpe (also in Leicestershire.)

If we use either site then an autumn meet can be held in the same place.

AT Icarus site then we would look for a room in the Cross Keys and do pub meals and coffee

At Countesthorpe then we would use a pub in the village and go out to the site to fire.

The course includes the live firing of several shells and cat four cakes etc.

ONE Warning! Do NOT apply for the course if you have convictions for firearms or explosives offences - they will disbar you from getting COER approval.

The practical session will require each person to have their own PPE meaning site boots fire retardant overalls (ie welder's spark proof or better) and hard hat with ear defenders and full face visor.

The call for cheques will happen in two days when the trainer tells me which of his companies will do the training (It'll be him through his company and cheque will be to his company)
