Would they be OK for a Clarke's steel fountain? If you made a rocket with one of those you'd need some airspace to test and fire it.

Also a very long stick and giant milk bottle

bottle sorted, just got to empty it first

On a more serious note with a few calcs you should be able to work out rough pressure containment requirements for your Clarke's fountain and compare it to the 500PSI these should take. I would imagine they would make a very good giant fountain tube however.
Phew that was close.

Hi,

I would be really interested in half a dozen or so of these tube, Iam in the SE UK.

Maybe we need to think a bit better on how to deliver collect these, they do look quite heavy.

Ridley

If your going to the convention in may you could collect them there, as digger is fetching some a couple of us have ordered, although, his car maybe full by now, so check with him first to see if there's any room left....Can't wait for my 3" tubes.... Bag-mines, in rack formation (5 straight and 5 fan) here I come B)

Please check with your company that filling up a whole car/van full is acceptable. I'd hate a few tubes to sour or end your employment.

Please tell us how long these tubes are>

Yes please do, we don't wan't you losing your job over a few tubes.

(510mm long missed of the first post).

I will however have an ultimate limit to the amount of these that I can transport due to their size/weight.

There you do mate

Already checked before removing any tubes.

They only go to a waste stream that costs the company money so if we could take them all they would be pleased (however that would be one large number of tubes).

Anyone making their own bio diesel now the new tax exemption regs have come in for personal use? We have a large veg fat waste stream (mixed oils) maybe 1000 tonnes per year. We can sell this to individuals at good rates in 1200 liter IBC's (1 tonne)

Yep I am thinking of making a few racks up for bag mines etc.
Phew that was close.

Just an idea. I have access to a large trailer, fill it up, and once my old workshop is cleared out, I could store around 100-200 and fetch them to meets and such

Whilst walking round our plant today I ventured down to our packing plant (one of those lights out robot operated jobbies, well nearly lights out). I noticed one of the waste streams was cardboard spools. There are various sizes, but the one that first caught my eye has a 75mm ID and a wall thickness of 15mm making the OD 105mm.

Sounds just like the tubes I use for my big whistle motors. They are strong enough that no sleeve is required for pressing. I'd love to see a giant whistle rocket from across the pond.

Just to revive this thread before the meet in a couple of weeks

I have 10 tubes for Arthur Brown and 10 for John Dee.

Does anyone else who is going to the meet want any (more).

Digger

P.S. It looks like I may have stumbled across another waste stream with 5" and 6" ID tubes of a similar wall thickness, pictures to follow in a few days.

just be aware that a "commercial" mortar tube for a 3" shell will actually have an internal diameter of about 77/78mm not 75mm :)
