Fired This earlier, it was overkill for a 4 inch but I liked it.
The rising effects were 2, 1.75" shells and a comet I had lying around. The burst was not that spherical as the brocade ring was placed in one hemi and not the other.

Despite the imperfect burst it was a great shell! All the stars burned beautifully and complimented one another. Timing was also perfect. What are the construction details?

The stars were 5mm red cores with crys 6 (i think) rolled up to 12mm. I cant remember the brocade formula, it burnt very fast, probably because i didn't mill it enough.
It was a gummed tape shell with 7.5g slow flash booster.

Plastic or paper hemmies?

Was there a layer of tissue between the stars and burst, and was the shell slightly over filled with burst? It appears to me that there was some star migration.

Do you have any more creations to show us?

Sorry forgot to add, paper hemispheres.
Yes there was tissue between star and burst, it was also overfilled so it had to be tapped to get the hemi's to meet; there was no rattles when i shook it anyway.

Don't have any other shells at the moment, working on some whistle rockets using the core designs from Here. Some pics of the Spindles I've made, 4oz and 3lb tooling.

I rolled a bunch of crap stars the other night; nothing went right and they turned out as a ugly gloppy mess. I managed to salvage them slightly but they didn't look good enough for a shell, so a Mine it is!

I just got this one. Disregard the music, I extracted it from a compilation someone else made. The timing isn't quite right, but you get the idea. 5 timed spider. I used 1/4" spolette differences between breaks. I think I will use 5/16" or 3/8" next time, and break it a bit earlier in it's flight. I hope to get the big shell breaking harder. It's hard to believe that had 12g of flash in it. I'll use 70-30 next time.

That was a fine looking shell, Mumbles. Lotta work in one like that, I'm guessing.

Nice shell mumbles, was this a five inch as described in fulcanelli (only less spiders i suppose)?

Yes 5". It's as described. a 7 and 9 break are also described. The breaks gradually get weaker. If only I could get them all to break like the first two. It's weird because they were all made at the same time in the same methods. I am going to try more to get it right.

Let us know how they work in the future, i've really taken an interest in such shells (Hammer, draw-out, SOS, timed spider) after seeing footage from the Aerial level 5 competition at the PGi meet in Fargo.

I've been getting the multi-break shell bug too over the last few years. They just work so much better than ball shells for me. I have priming issues that don't seem to be as devastating in canister shells. I read the fulcanelli articles and just start dreaming up shells. I have a big one planned out for May. 5" quad break. A bunch of insert shells, a crossette break, and of course a bottom shot. I want to try a hammer, and a 9 timed spider this summer.
