This is a poll to find out how old most people are when they are into pyrotechnics.

im 30 but turned into a pyro the first time i saw a lighter lit or a match burn, hmmm must have been about 3ish :D made my first boom when i was 4 or 5ish with a baseball bat and a paper cup on the end and learned how to light mutipul sparklers at once when i was 5 or 6. lit my first bottle rocket and package of firecrackers at 7. from there, there was no stopping me.

Didn't get involved in 'making' fireworks until 6 or 7 years ago. I got the bug from a very enthusiastic friend. Ain't been right in the head ever since.

Dont worry about trying to prove your responsibility, we consider you one of us untill you actually say/do something stupid, and generally you can redeem yourself even after that. Im 15, and I know ive said a few things that make people smack their heads but I know that there are a couple fella's here that still take me seriously.

Made my first BP - albeit not too good! when I was 13. Soon discovered it was all in the charcoal. Used to do the pyro's for our band - looking back it was silly - knowing the legal stuff now I wouldn't dream of doing it again!

Started up again 2 years ago. Taing it very seriously and with the help of a few people (you know who you are :) ) I think I'm making progress.

That reminds me - got to turn the oven off - just cooking up some dextrin!

Interesting results so far, indicating that 50% of forum members are under 16 or old enough to be their fathers. Does anyone, apart from me, involve their children (or fathers), or do we sculk off to the garden shed and lock the door?

I made a nice fountain with my eldest daughter last week, she was well impressed. You lot will have to clean up your act if girls start joining the forum ;)

I'm 17 and have been pyro for a few years. My Dad's a chemistry teacher so he only encourages me in the hobby (he even nicks me chemicals from his school!)
