Hi Guys!

I saw an effect recently that looked a bit like a starmine, except it was actually more like a fountain that went off really fast i.e. using them as hits in a pyro musical. Like a blast of sudden fluffy pyro stuff

I got thinking about how you would make something like this. Would it work if you just made a normal fountain but without the choke, so like the end of the tube is more open?

Search carefully the lemaitreltd.com site I think there is a video log of their products there. You might get some more clues from their names.

From what I've seen, they're made by using a squat gerb with no choke, with a core all the way down. The grain seemed to have been pressed on a convex nipple, thus forming a kind of nozzle at the end of the core... There was some airspace under the core and they were ignited here (from below) with an e-match. Essentially, they're an extremely short duration (typically 1/4 second) upside-down nozzleless rocket : )
