After spending ages looking for a decent tool to cut 10mm time fuse I finally found a good tool. This does not crush the powder inside and make the cleanest cut I have seen. Cheap too!

Been making some 4" Red stars w/ flash reports mines and needed the timing on the reports to be 1.5 second, once marked the cutter makes a really good cut and the timings will be very accurate. Would work with 1/4" time fuses too. Because it does not deform the powder and crush the fuse it will make the delays all the same as you marked them. Happy cutting!

LOL, I just put a new blade in my Stanley knife and promptly cut myself with it

10mm fuse seems a bit excessive for flash inserts but the tool looks great.

What a great idea!!! I hate cutting thick fuse with a razor blade or utility knife. Sounds like I need to make a trip to the hardware store.

Karl, I am interested to know why you personally wish to fuse the salutes with time fuse when you are an accomplished beraq maker? Why do you not just use beraq in the mines?

I use a pneumatic tubing cutter e.g. http://www.technobot...001#a4511_2d001 - perfect cut every time, and if you've got a file/soldering iron or similar hot thing you can modify it to give an angled cut.

I made the reports from the Gamon insert shell, I would use Beraq but they take a long time to make and I wanted to see just how good this fuse can be on timing. I still make alot of beraq but its very time consuming to make each on. Just think 9 steps of manufacture to make just one beraq. As for wasting fuse I do have over 100m of it some a few cm wont hurt! :-)

If my experience with large calibre Spanish candles is anything to go by, the answer is the timing can be very good - I've seen <200ms error in 8 shots (32 sec) - the otheradvantage with"fat" fuse like this is the ease ofwhich it takes fire. Are you going to try one of those shells with sequential bangs like I saw in Brasil??
