Well its only 5 more days to go before i set off on my journey to Epic Fireworks in Batley.

Got my list sorted and im sure that will be getting longer over the next few days.

Heres whats made my list so far, see what you think.

Hercules, Tank Buster, Thunderous Finale, Screaming Spiders, End of the World, Openfire, Heavy Duty, Krazy Klock, Fiery Eye, The Guy Fawkes pack, Mega Rocket Pack, Sky Thriller.
All that for £276 + VAT (£325 total )

Really cant wait for saturday now as i know the 3.5 hour drive there will be well worth it.

Where are you driving from?

I like Yorkshire a lot- One side of my family is from Hudderfield, although all gone now. There is a lot to do in that area, too. Bradford Museum of Film, Photography and Television is well worth a visit, if you fancy making it a day out.

Where are you driving from?

Im driving from the sunny Costa del Workington (Cumbria)

Its about a 150 mile journey down there. Just keeping fingers crossed Motorways aren't to bad but knowing the M6 it will be. Contemplating on going across to Scotch Corner and then down the A1/M1

Just like to say a big thank you to all the team at Epic

Went down on saturday and when i arrived i had a nice cuppa made for me, Given all the time i needed to browse there huge display walls. Felt like a big kid in a candy shop .

Once i had made my mind up i give them the list of stuff i wanted and stood back while there team went off, got a trolley loaded up, scanned thro the till and then packed for me into my car (and boy do they know how to pack a car).

Even after i had settled up i was still not ushered out of the door, instead they put the DVD machine back on and showed us some more of there videos. Once we were ready to go we were asked if we minded having a photo taking so they could put it up on there site (apparently they like to see happy people with a boot load of Pyro ) and then we were thanked for coming down and wished a safe journey home.

They have got to be one of the most professional, happiest team i have ever encountered and i will certainly be making the journey back there in the not to distant future and would recommend anyone to go because you wont be disappointed.

All i have to do now is keep my hands of my stash now til the big day

I think the excitement of seeing all that pyro there got to me and i forgot to introduce mysel, Still Jimmy (i think it was jimmy anyways) looked after me and bung in a couple of freebies for me

We could be coming back down before GFN anyway cos when we got back and folk seen our stash they were asking if we were going back and if we could get them some stuff. If we dont make it back before then tho i'll def be there for my N.Y. Eve pyro

Sorry to hijack the thread but I also would like to say how good my visit to epic was on saturday, didnt get my pic taken tho lol! Could have easily spent way way more than I did, especially with Tony (think that was his name ) providing me with his reccomendations

Went back down to Epic on saturday and even in the middle of Silly season they still have that nice relaxed, friendly professional service about them. Taking the time to go around all there customers browsing the fireworks and making sure they were ok, offering everyone cups of tea/coffee and giving out very helpful advice if nyone needed it.

Compared to some seasonal shops where you go in and if you haven't bought anything within 5 minutes of entering then your looked at funny Epic are miles out in the lead.

For eg. I was in our local seaonal shop last week browsing about (mainly trying to find that odd bargain they sometimes have) when i was asked quite sternly 'You want out Lad' when i told him that i was just looking about he told me to 'hurry up lad cos other folk wanting to come in' (now considering im only 9 stone and the shop was empty apart from me i wondered how on earth i was managing to stop other folk from coming in!!!) anyway i pointed to some random cake and asked him what it was like and what effects it had, to which he replied "Its a barrage Lad, it shoots out stars and bangs' Oh i said that don't sound very good but then again neithers your help and promptly left.

Now compare that to the experience you get from Epic, Spend as much time as you want browsing, and get offered cups of tea/coffee while you browse, If you need advice on what a firework does not only will they describe exactly what the effects, duration, spread is of that particular one they will also show you a video of it in action so you can see for yourself.

To fully appreciate the helpfulness and professional service Epic offer then you relly need to experience it for yourself, Trust me i was doubtful before i first went and now that i've been, there is absolutely no way would i even entertain going back to seasonal shops and dont even get me started on supermarkets (standing at the firework stall in Morrisons the other day i asked for some portfires and the response i got off them was "Sorry, we dont sell fires sir")
