As for "dummies"

Don't be so hard onyourself Dean :P

You can count me in on making some dummies too. Maybe a big shell cross section.

Regarding Gazebo...

I think rather than a 'roof on four sticks' we need something more like the tent we had at the convention. ie one with walls.

My reasoning is twofold:

1) Walls will give us somewhere to hang pictures etc. and give us more control over where people come in and out - ie. stop them nicking things...

2) Walls will afford some protection to the display items and personnel should it rain/ be windy.

I try

Regarding the Gazebo Phil, it does have walls but it's a thin fabric mesh, not sure if it has a cover to go over them but your right, we need something like we had at the convention.

Regarding inert Fireworks, is it worth starting a thread on 'Lookalike' materials and methods to easily reperduce what we need without going through the whole process? Stars etc are easy enough but I'm thinking cross section

Forget that, cross section is going to be hard anyway and will take longer than just building the thing

Try contacting your local scouts or girl guides to borrow a small marquee or large mess tent, just remember insurance for anything you borrow.

There is one about about a mile away from me where I used to go, (yes I was in the scouts, never tied a clove hitch till I started pyro though lol) so I'll give them a try. Saying that, not even sure it's still used so will have to check that out.

We are probably in the market to buy a tent... Don't think they are that expensive and we will hopefully need it lots of times in due course...

We now have our event team organised and the location of Stamford Hall on the 1st of August booked to attend for our very first UKPS public event.

I hope as many of you who are able to will be attending and we see you there.

Now still left to organise are our dummy show pieces. Please can all those who contacted me regarding making inert material to display please contact me to let me know if you have made things already or are still happy to supply something.

As I said in this thread, I would build a dummy multibreak Can shell, Maltise style. I'm thinking 2...One showing the different spiking layouts for the burst of each can, and one showing a cross section of each break...

The question is....Do you get multibreak can shells in this country, and if so whats the largest?.... Also, would people be interested
