To be able to state an item is reduced the price used for comparison must have been your most recent price available for 28 days or more

how many actually comply with that law?

Well, it depends on the individual seller. Shops like Great Northern certainly comply with that law. When they offer deals, it is a genuine discount off their previous price.

I am not sure about the wholesaler tag for Epic as they sell direct to the general public, which is different to the likes of JTF that have memberships and require business credentials to join.

Well, they certainly sell wholesale to businesses, who then sell the products in their own shops. So they are a wholesaler. For sure, they sell fireworks retail too, but they do still sell fireworks wholesale.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

alas no, the retailer (as in LIDL) have to comply with that regulation :)

Not disputing that Epic may sell to businesses who then sell on to he public, but a business could do that when buying from any outlet (I know some shops, not fireworks, who have cashed in on special offers and resold them in their shops)

I just meant they are not a "wholesaler" in the TRADE sense of the word, which I guess you were meaning when you stated that they wouldn't have to comply with the regulations you posted a link to :)

Yeah, I know what you mean- they are not exclusively a trade wholesaler anymore.

They are still very much a wholesaler- the business name is Jimmy's Wholesale Fireworks Limited. "Epic" is their main brand name- they also import fireworks under the Majestic, Marvel, Paramount and Oriental brands.

Well personally i think the Lidl £9.99 rockets are great if your on a budget, the cakes are ok, the selection packs are a bit of a rip off, Aldi Selection packs are good value, the cakes again like lidl are ok, the rockets are overpriced and not very good, haven't had a lord of the night pack
but it does look rather good, think il get one this year.

im getting:
1. 1 pack of Lidl £9.99 rockets
2. 1 firepack from aldi £9.99
3. 1 lord of the night pack

ive only got £35 to spend :/ so its ok for the money (il have to contribute a fiver), and what do people think of the lord of the night pack? any good?
