Hello all.

I'm off on holiday The 1st week in November to cottage in the Yorkshire Dales. Does anyone know if there will be any good shows on in this area please?
I don't want to miss out

Wednesday 5 November

Richmond Firework Display

Venue: Richmond Castle

Firing time 7pm. Gates open 6pm.
Tickets - £3 per person (under 5's free of charge)

There is a limited number of tickets available. On the night from 5.30pm in the market hall (no tickets will be sold at the entrance of the Castle) or previously from Town Hall, Co-op, Crawfies, Richmond Castle, West End Store or Barber Shop.
Refreshments available.
All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Think positive! Does the cottage allow Pyro? Often these places are large, converted farms, so tend to be quite good locations. I know there is one near us in Lancs who have a very specific "No Fireworks" sign up in all the cottages!

if i owned a cottage on a large piece of land...i'd allow fireworks 365 days a year....of any size !...

but then thats me !

Thanks for that. We're heading for Bellerby near Leyburn.

It's our first wedding anniversary. Our honeymoon last November was in a cottage in Cumbria. We went to the local village display which was actually very good.

well congratulations.....and what better way to spend it than a red hot bonfire, some decent fireworks, some good wine ( i added that bit ) and a late evening in a quiet, discreet cottage, with your new wife.


if your into late evening snacks...may i suggest the following( im making it in 5 mins):

take some fresh large atlantic prawns....some garlic, a little paprika, some decent olive oil, a small ciabata loaf, and perhaps a little emmental cheese.....

heat the oil, fairly hot, add the prawns, for 30 seconds, then the garlic and paprika...again, no more than 30 seconds....remove prawns and garlic, put it ontop of some ciabata bread....with a little cheese on top.....season......

then, robert will be your brothers father.

Considering the sparse population and excess of sheep, Cumbria is a good place for fireworks - one reason I live there

Im doing a show at Broughton hall near skipton on the 5th using shells up to 12" if you can get near that.
