I've looked at the back of a couple of Proton Bombs I have (the multi shot version) - and it says 6. So yeah, I assume that is indeed the year.

No, Proton Bombs weren't from big Ds.

I asked for ther two things I mentioned already, some meteor rockets, the crackling cracker, some big circular thing 2048 I think it was called, I forget what else.

I did a search for "Big D's Preston" on google UK, and the very first result was- this thread!

But anyway, cut a long story short, they are gone.

Closed down.

Oh well, Half Price Bright Star was , in theory, good, in practice this shop was a joke- not much stock, comically bad service.

It has gone! That is what I am saying, it went out of business recently.

Not sure about all other branches, but I know some closed down.
