hmm, thats one kick ass rocket as for the suggestion a of a "smaller core" its not the width that needs altering but the length, you get a really loud whistle with a shorter core, but nowhere nearly as much thrust needed to lift 12"! shell, hence the long core.
I'm guessing the whistle noise isn't an issue anyway, he needs a really powerful propellant to get it off the ground, you could add "auxiliary" sound making units
core designs very important and if you did use narrower core on a fast burning propellant like whistle,it wouldn't be able to expel the gases fast enough, leading to a Cato
