I've paid a visit to the standard factory shop today and compared to last year their choice and prices seem much improved. I've already bought quite a few bits from Epic but i'm always on the lookout for anything going cheap :)

Something that caught my eye was this multi shot display pack

clicky

It's down at £149 on standards online shop but is being sold for £60 at the factory shop. Unfortunately they don't show any of the individual fireworks only the rather massive box they all come in.

Has anyone had these before and if so was it any good?

If they're half decent then it seems like a bit of a bargain, i'm only wary as some of the larger sized standard stuff i've bought in the past has turned out to be a bit dissapointing.

Is there a link for their factory shop?

Reagrding that pack, at £6 per firework, its probably a pretty good deal . I agree- hard to say for sure unless you know what is in it!
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

I've looked all over their website and although a lot of the fireworks they sell in the factory shop are listed they're at a much higher price. Looks like you have to turn up in person to take advantage of the discounts.

Yup, nest to the caravan shop.

Brothers also have a shop in Huddersfield, right at the bottom of the town centre opposite the sports centre, had a quick look in there and they were even more overpriced than whiteleys Garden Centre at the top of Mirfield.

It looks like it's be Jimmys (Epic) and the standard factory shop for me this year.

How much was Brother's stuff? I don't think Brothers have "official" RRPs.

I was given a flyer when I was in there and that has RRP's printed on it. Most of their stuff seemed quite pricey although a lot of it was BOGOF.

Jaberwocky is £45.99 BOGOFF but epic sell it for about £26.
Nightvision was £15 each compared to £8ish at epic
Starfleet rocket pack was £25.99, same thing at epic is £15... you get the idea.

Didn't stay in the shop very long due to being accosted almost as soon as I walked through the door by two chinese women saying their prices were negotiable if I was to buy something straight away, I really don't think i'll bother going there again. To be honest they seemed almost overjoyed that someone had actually come into the shop but then again that is sort of understandable seeing how the shop is at the rough end of town and about as far away from the main town centre shops as you can get without actually leaving the town centre.

I dont want to openly advertise because I know its against the forum policy. But we are cheaper than epic for brothers items and we stock the new 2008 items which epic dont. I am getting fed up with all the free publicity they get. If you can get to rotherham I am sure you will find it worth the effort.

Yeah- Four different shops are being mentioned here.

1, Standard's outlet, Huddersfield.
2, Brother's outlet, Huddersfield.
3, Epic (Jimmys Wholesale) outlet, Batley.
4, Cabbage Patch Fireworks, Rotherham.

I am getting fed up with all the free publicity (Epic) get.

To be fair, It is pretty normal for people to mention retail prices here- it's useful to know for comparision etc. As long as people avoid inaccurate slogans, I don't think there is a problem.

well if its ok...

we are doing
brothers choice - £40
Companion set - £25
888 - £16.50
fireone - £55
Starfleet - £15
OPenfire - £22.50
Hercules (yep we have em in) - £45
Fantastic at £27.50
Jabberwocky - £25

and we also stock the entire brothers range.

so we are at least comparable

we also stock vulcan, menshun, shogun , Britannia , Blackcat , Standard , Blue moon & Pro Pyro.

Now I hope I dont get into trouble with that as I say I thought quoting prices / advertising was against the rules and dont want to be in bother in only my 3rd post. But please pay us a visit just to take a look we do provide free shop dvds of the items we sell as well.

PS I will also match that standard online price for all night party.

It is still a week to go, I guess people might leave it late. I've noticed a lot of the seasonals round here have just started opening! In Preston I think seasonal trade might have been hit too by the economic slowdown, and competition from all year rounders and JTF. That said, that Big D shops flogging Bright Star at half price seems to be booming.
