So the deal isn't really buy one get two free then is it :)

Not wanting to start/continue an argument about the pricing I am just merely stating a fact.

The exact wording of their website is-

" RRP - £59.99 per selection box

EPIC PRICE - £70.49 (£59.99 + VAT) for 3 selection boxes "

That does put it very straight and clearly.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

I assumed that the website had been updated since you made that post.

The webiste does say £59.99 RRP now .

You had said " which (£59.99 RRP) is the price that epic quote online and sell that item at in their shop (the website price is wrong at the moment and in the process of being altered) "

thats what I assumed, obviously we were wrong.

It can state the price as clearly as it likes, it still doesn't change the fact that their offer isn't correct :)

ha ha, I am sure there have been and will be in the future screwball - I just wouldn't get quite so defensive about them......these things happen but when a companies profile is raised then so will attention to such detail.

Hmm There seems to be an ongoing trend here that the people who try and nit pick and complain about Epic Fireworks are those people who own / run there own business which is trying to compete with them. I just wonder how much more trade they would get if they concentrated on there own businesses as much as they concentrate on Epic's

I have not heard one person who does not sell fireworks complain about them so they must be doing something right.

My personal experience with them is that they give me the best price (by a long way) for the fireworks i wanted and i was more than happy with them and would recommend them to anyone.

If your not happy with there prices dont go there, if you are happy then go there its as simple as that.

My advice to Azlar (who is the person who was wanting some advice and not wanting to listen to people slagging off other people's businesses) is to give Epic a ring and see if they will sell the Brother's companion box seperately if that's the one you want. There is a video on you tube of the Brother's Companion box so you can watch it and see if its right for you.

Here is the link

If you do decide to go to Epic and are after a good loud firework then i'd recommend the Thunder King 25 Shot they have got.

Hi All,

I am new here, but have been watching for a few days and decided to make a post.

Can anyone offer any advise on 'Atomic Fireworks'.

I have been offered what looks like a pretty good 83 peice assortment called 'Streetwise' for £50.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience with these.

Thanks for any advise.

I think it depends on what you are doing for bonfire night. If you want to spend the evening lighting little fireworks, then streetwise would be good. However, if you are firing a display for people- who will naturally get a bit cold after a while, my suggestion is to go for about 5 or 6 cakes, around £5-£15 each, that should be a nice display for around the same price as streetwise, and much more reasonable length for the crowd!

Looking at Streetwise, I just wonder if it is gearered towards the "bang boy" market- and this is something that should not be encouraged.

You could always suppliment them with a cheap selection box, if you wanted some more bits to light!

I just looked at the Epic website and they seems the have a branch in Leicester, I will have to give them a ring and see what they can do. The companion set looks ok, but not sure I want 3 of them.

If anyone from Leicester reads this and wants to make me a good selection I am open for offers  .

Other than that, a nice man in Rotheram has made me a good offer for my money.

Once again, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their help.

well if you took the blinkers off you may find there are other retailers just as cheap if not cheaper and offer as good if not better service. As it happens my last customer just drove from Watford! because he thinks I am the best and I am expecting a good customer from Bude today as well which is a 614 mile round trip, also because he thinks I give the best advice , price , range etc

So each to their own I suppose.

I am not trying to pick a fight I am actually a nice fella. I organise free events where we fire over £3000 of fireworks twice a year followed by a display again worth well over £1000 where we use products available from our shop so customers can see ideas of how it can fit. We also provide dvds of all the products we sell in our shop filmed and fired by us so we can give the very best advice possible. ie we know everything we sell down to the last screech!

tell me of other retailers with that product knowledge? believe me theres not many..
I can name a few but epic are not one of them

Pure Party
1st Galaxy
21st Centuary
Jordans
Big firework shop
Cabbage patch fireworks.

If I have missed anyone else I apologise. But they are the companies I know go to similar lengths to give the best advice possible.

As for concentrating on Epic we have to. yes they are the biggest but when I have to explain to my customers that my price is cheaper even though it only has 33% off retail rather than epics 50% its confusing. They are so big they do target customers nationwide and therefore affect quite a number of retailers with their sales tactics. I am not saying they are wrong to do so. If I thought I could get away with it with a clear conscience that I would probably do the same.

I hope that clarifies a few matters. If you were to visit any of the above mentioned shops I am sure you would be as impressed if not more so with the service you receive. But thats your choice.

I am not trying to compete with them, we are an entirely different type of business, albeit in the same field and no doubt have different customer bases.

However where I see "mistakes" that could possibly mislead people I feel compelled to point them out, especially when the mistakes are in a market I feel I have enough knowledge about to make an informed comment.

Epic have some fantastic pieces and will do very well this year:)

Firstly i dont wear blinkers i have done plenty of research before i made my long journey. Do you honestly believe i just decided to jump in a car one day and travel all the way to Batley on the off chance there was a firework shop there that offered good deals

I pick and choose my fireworks very carefully (especially this year as moneys tight) and look for the best deals around. I happened to find for what i was wanting Epic were the cheapest.

I have been to at least 3 of the retailers in your list and to be honest i found the service at two of them were well below the service i recieved from Epic and the other one was roughly on a par with Epic.

Epic's prices were cheaper and therefore got my business and for as long as they are cheaper for the fireworks i want then they will continue to get my business and i will carry on recommending them, just like some people will recommend you.

The point you seem to fail to pick up on is that its only Epic's business rivals who seem to do all the complaining about them and not a single customer, therefore they must be keeping there customers happy.

I find it quite amusing that you have included one certain company on your list as providing a better service as it was one of the people who first highlighted Epic to me by doing all the complaining about them, until this point i had never heard of them, went on there website to see what all the fuss was about that this certain person was on about and seen how cheap they were.

After this i made a few enquiries to see if the prices were correct and next thing you know i got a house full of Pyro for very cheap so i aint gonna complain but i would like to say a very huge THANK YOU to

*********

Ah whats the point they'll only whinge about that as well  . Maybe if they hadn't complained they would of got my business this year.

me too. But please look out for our next pyrofix and come along you will be most welcome just like everyone else is. I am confident my business will continue to grow. Just like epic i have never heard anyone giving us bad press either.

People who do come to us come back again and again and each year my customer base is growing and it has to be said more from word of mouth than any form of advertising.

Hence why you missed us in your extensive research. Well never mind hopefully we can help you out in the future afterall I do stock many lines that Epic dont.
