About the cloth. It wont crumble, you are making a VERY thick anode. mine fell from about 1.5 meters several times and didnt flake off. I dont think the type of cloth matters, i just used a sock
Nice If I fail with ceramic substrate LD, I'l go for it!

CERAMIC : ceramic is good but ull have some troubles with the connection' keep us updated.

When I have a layer good enough to provide a stable connection, I'l apply a good layer by electrolysis.

Now, I'm plating in nitrate bath. It worked great at first (until my steel connection failed), but now, when i changed to PbO2 connection, it wont really plate. The current is 0,23A wich is good, but i cannot see Lead Dioxide being deposited on the chloth as before. I'm not worried though, if nothing happens until tomorrow, I will apply another layer of Lead Dioxide paste and start all over again.
Yeah, and I'm finished with my power supply. It can deliver at least 50A before things goes too hot.

The plating in action.
The powersupply. Very simple, only a transformer and three rectifiers.
It was a dirty job though. First I had to make Lead Nitrate by boiling Lead in HNO3. No NOx Was produced. Coppernitrate was a little different. I used room tempered HNO3 and copper sheet metal. It reacted instantly and a big cloud of NOx formed quickly. Toxic, but quite pretty. And the blue Copper Nitrate solution was nice too. The Lead Dioxide for pasting was made using Lead Tetraoxide and HNO3. I first tried Lead Nitrate and Sodium Persulfate, but it didn't react at all. The Tetraoxide worked great and was a very clean operation. I also gave some additional Lead Nitrate.
Hm, probably not the healthiest chems in the world.. Hate to destroy pyro chemicals wich i've only got in small amounts. Would do a lot better in dragon eggs!
But hey! I've still got some Bismuth Trioxide!

Would anyone be interested in a group buy of titanium substrate lead dioxide anodes from india? Im might email them and ask about some numbers and costs. Prices could be good if we get a few people interested.

Graphite rod broke in two, added some KCl solution and not much happened (only had 35ah anyway), going to try again but with some thick EDM bars

Getting nitric acid around here is next to impossible and all the places that i have found are a 1000km+ away
I might get lucky and find a place that will even deal with the public.

A commercially made TSLD anode will last years and will take a lot of abuse
