Post your pics here of those awfully window dressed items that are worth about tuppence in reality. If you recall how well/badly it performed a brief description would be nice too.

I have none this year (typically). So I am relying on others.

I had this one this year, Bright Star Fireworks 'Time Warp' 55 shot barrage.

Posted Image

I could tell when I got it home it was very light and had a big hole in the middle, see this picture, said hole.

It has had the flashpowder element removed and is now a fountain with coloured comets, crackling and a few whistles.

Theres probably other fireworks out there that do the same thing better and much more, it's not awful but it's not that good either.

Thanks. I did see that one in your pics you posted earlier. Hopefully this can become a reference of what to avoid buying in future. Any more?

A few of the Benstar from Lidle are window dressed with larger outer tubes containing a small fountain. My cousin was also doing some that he bought from Morrison's and some of the larger scale fountains were simply crap. They basically lasted for all of 5 seconds before going out when the tube was 7 inches long. Stick to making your own :>!!

The Midas Gold Medal rockets this year are totaly different from last year but look exactly the same externally. Last year the head had a full bore effects unit slid in above loose stars - this year it is all air and the effects are contained in an extension of the motor tube. Haven't fired them yet so can't comment on performance. The effects are still described as double effects so we shall see.

Can I make a plea to all forum members!

Please support this posting by Mortartube,...............by saving as many spent firework cases as possible after this weekend (good or bad).

Why?,...............we can then build up a database/picture library for future reference about what was good/bad and what to choose and why, if possible and I know this sounds strange, if you have the time - please try and weigh some of your fireworks before you use them! (we need to try and deconstruct the window dressing and it contents afterwards and compare).

Hopefully this info will educate forum members and the masses to consider purchasing there fireworks from local independant shops/outlets.

I've never seen the inside of a Fire One before- they are clearly making it much longer than it needs to be.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Thanks for the pics MiniChris, FireOne does look a bit spread out. I didn't take individual ones but heres a pic of most of the stuff...

You can see Heavy Duty, King Cobra, The Slammer, Brothers 15 shots cakes, Humming Hornets, Fragma, Thunder King, Bunker Buster, Brothers Imperial, Lucifers Laughter, Time Warp.

Time Warp was the only window dressed one out of the lot!

Heres Predator 500.

Here's mine. The only window dressed ones were the Sainsbury's selection of Fission and Space Attack cakes!

The Fission cakes had a piece of MDF in them and Space Attack had polystyrene. Terrible!
