Did anyone see 'supermarket' barrages being fired this year?

It's a bit of a long shot, but I would appreciate feedback on performance/effect details of any barrages stocked by the multiples. (Don't be shy - it's not a hanging offence to own up to buying the odd cake from the local Co-op).

thanks

They are awful and overdressed nonsense. I saw plenty, its just crap. I even saw some expensive standard items, they were shockingly bad! Oh and talk about overpriced for what you get, my aunt bought a buy one get one free standard selection box, I didn't know weather to be outraged or laugh my head off, so I chose the latter in the end.

Morrison's even had a brand that I could not find at all outside of their store!

I think some people here might have bought some of the cheaper supermarket barrages.

The brand Dynasty is (I think) made specially for Morrisons. I think it contains item that are made specifically for that range too (IE unlike JTF they don't have carbon copy versions under another label.)

They do carry some of the stuff from Cosmic's range too.

I always buy the little Cosmos barrage from Lidl. Although it has been changed a little this year, it is coloured bombettes and fish. I think it is worth £4.99

That sounds an improvement over the old spec as that was just coloured starbursts. The fish are a nice addition. Certainly good value for £4.99. I have used these for several years now as a good mid display cake (fired 2 old spec. ones together this year) I may try 4 of these as part of the finale next year.

Rainbow Storm 90 shot at £6.99 was good value too - physically smaller than last year but didn't have the hole in the middle, the effects looked the same though - coloured starbursts.

Midas Gold Medal rockets were rubbish - same price as last year £5 for 4 and looked the same but the payload was MUCH smaller (contained in an extension of the motor tube so tiny whereas the old one had loose stars + an effect unit that filled the payload space).

That is all I used for supermarket fireworks this year.

I have some old and new Gold Medal rockets. I will have to do a bit of dissecting I think.

I bought some comets and whispers rockets from Somefield. £9.99 per pack of 10 and BOGOF. So 20 rockets for a tenner. They are very small and don't tend to fly like a conventional rocket with a longish burn, but almost go off in the same way a silver jet does and throw themselves into the sky with a very quick burst of thrust. They contain flying fish fuse. They aren't brilliant but as I said, there was 20 for a tenner basically so I won't grumble.

I was very lucky to obtain some Excelsior Signal rockets this year (The old cat 2 black ones), that actually go bang. I will be using them sparingly over the coming years.

I have about 20 left. I also have one of the Excelsior Cat 3 ones from the past. I am loathe to fire it, so will try to de-activate it. It really should be in someones collection.
