i buy my pyrotechnic stuff from www.bargain-mart.com.au/pyro.php where do you get yours ? does anyone know where to find any perchlorate in Australia?

I'm sorry to tell you this, but mate, you are being ripped off in a serious way. The cheapest thing there is probably the fuse, and it's still a big mark up. You should be paying a tenth what you are for Potassium nitrate.

I can understand buying things like Magnalium, Bismuth trioxide and Potassium perchlorate at double the ideal price, as they are not easily available in Australia. Potassium nitrate, Sulfur, Aluminium and charcoal are available, and cheap. Magnesium ribbon is of no use in fireworks.

I hope you did not throw too much money away buying from this place.
