So I conclude it´s basically insignificant which version I use (alcohol, ketone or other). For pyro applications they will are work well, right?

yes the solvent evaporates so the NC is all that remains

Just something to note. The good NC will not be soluble in alcohol. However, I believe the solutions are dilutable with alcohol. Just watch out for clouding. I'd imagine enough alcohol could crash some out. I don't know what grade of NC is generally used, but I think it's at least a mid-grade nitration 11.4 or 5 perhaps.
