I concur with most of Arthurs remarks.

However, given the large amount of legislation involved, Illuminate prefer to do a whole day course dedicated to the theory. They can then do a second day with practical content.

This does however make the course more expensive and would involve those travelling with the addition cost of overnight accommodation.

As to the venue, we do our best, but travel will usually be involved. We have members from Cornwall to the Highlands and you can't please all the people...

Bit close to Christmas now, but will look into this after the festivities.

As hosting this course takes a lot of effort, does the Committee of the Society want to run the 2013 course, or would a competent volunteer from the Society or forum be acceptable.

Is there a willing volunteer to organise the course in 2013
-it needs to be well clear of the silly season say April or May
-it needs a good location

People who use the certificate to get discounted insurance should remember that this discount is for having passed the course within the past three years -Part of your professional development is redoing the course to keep up with changes in legislation and accepted best practise.
