Well, Hello all, it's me the new guy again, I saw this and could not resist posting to it. Every year The Crackerjacks www.crackerjacks.org have three club shoots, 2 dayers that are a fine extravaganza of pyro fun. The last shoot is always in October and we have a Pumpkin busting competition during one of the 2 days, usually a couple of hours. Anyway, so my good friend Mike Seets, Pumpkin Grower Extrordinaire, Brings an 85 pound Pumpkin, I Bring a 2 pound Mag -55 Flash Comp Salute. Yep, 2 whole pounds of Flash in a 1" walled Fibreboard tube, 13" long, 5" OD.
( This was safely transported from our ATF Magazine, After I manufactured it (Orginally for an Aerial 5" Cylinder Shell/Salute) at our licensed Place of Manufacture, I don't suggest this project or formula for "Newbies")
As Mike Was driving the Pumpkin Out to the field, my other friend, Larry Maske, weilding a Salute that was about 1.5" OD and 14" long, with a Pumpkin that weighed about ten pounds, Dejectedly said...."Bear, I guess This means I am going to come in a VERY distant Second" HAHA
Well, We cut the hole in the Pumpkin, Set the Salute in, With about 6 Feet of Quickmatch and an E-Match attached to that, we unrolled about 600 feet of Firing wire, The Count down began after all spectators were about 1000 feet or more away, 3,2,1 I hit the button and watched that 85 pound pumpkin disintergrate with not so much as a single pumpin seed to be found in the 8 foot Blast ring, The Concussion was chestpounding and so loud it echoed through the mountains for what seemed like minutes. We (Mike and I) drove away the golf cart, smiling victorious and still today hold the record for Punkin Busting for the Crackerjacks.
Just thought I'd Share that, I am more proud of alot of other accomplishments, but this one is pretty funny......
Stay Green,
Bear
