Kimbolton used to say that their 85mm mine was better than the 100mm one because the max weight of compound left the bigger mine looking a bit sparse, the same weight in an 85mm tube looked fuller.

AFIK Kimbolton still sell ranges of cat3 mines through their web shop, from a dealer perspective, I haven't seen mines on that scale so perhaps not good to look in shops for them.

Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..

mines are not a big seller to the "general public" hence you dont see many places selling the larger varieties :)

We will be stocking some really nice 75mm and 100mm mortar mines this year.

And they will be made in the UK

Completely agree with this. It's really hard to sell a 5 second single effect for a similar price as a longer cake, or higher level rocket.

People are really missing out!

I assume you will be using Kimboltons mines if they are going to be produced within the UK?

It's a shame so many of the fountain start ones seem to feel the need to stick a screeching whistle in them, which is something I can't stand.

All the more reason to rip the delay units out and quickmatch the whole lot : )

I particularly enjoy Kimbolton's Cat2 mines, but only after this treatment.

Why do you think these will be KB mines?

Have you been told that KB are the only company that are licensed to make fireworks in the UK. (they have a habit of telling people this) As they are not.

And, no they are not KB mines.

Seeing that you are in Essex, Firework Crazy, it would make much more sense for you to go to that Tom Archer fellow at Essex Pyrotechnics, I would imagine.

Interesting point.

I've known a few people (but not actually anyone from Kimbolton directly) to mention that Kimbolton's entire range is British made, where of course most of it is now Chinese made.

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Well I am glad that these will be produced within the UK and hope it adds that sentimental value to the item that this device was produced within the UK and isn't a shabby import that whistles crackles and pops. May I ask what company are producing them?
