As per title really. seems they got off lightly with a 300 fine as they are broke.

Certainly shows the risks associated with fireworks business, and the reason why insurance is expensive, accidents on this scale are rare but the cost of one is enormous.

A fireworks factory? I think not - testing detonators? Yes pyros do this all the time. We've got a show, lets 'test some detonators'.

Given the total ignorance of the press and their inability to listen to what people tell them, you won't be surprised to hear I don't read newspapers any more...

It's not easy to figure out what actually was going on here.

"The court heard three people were assembling fireworks late into the night for the peak bonfire season when the fire began at about 9.30pm"

Later it says they were fusing fireworks, not 100% what that means- the given description "a procedure involving the cutting of fuses on fireworks and joining them together in order to maximise their explosive effect."

It also says

"denied there were as many as 30 boxes lying around awaiting distribution"

This does seem to be attempting to paint a picture of fireworks being manufactured for distribution/sales.

as for the fuseing we all do this so no real problem however we dont smoke or drink when we do this.. the man is a complete ass all he care about is the money and to hell with peoples safety. there is also the case of the firer who got injured by a mine with no training the show where people were injured and he still carried on fireing.the buisness he ruined around him the fraudlent insurance the list goes on and on. firemagicuk ltd was sent up over two years ago and ran by his father so he could pled poverty without having to pay any fines. i hope anybody foolish enough to book him will check for insurance both private dispalys and councils alike.. and yes i was at the court trial.
