Well, its been about a year and a half since I last been on this forum, and a lot has changed. Richard well done you seem to be doing a great job with the board and with its nice new look!.
My shooting has taken over most of my life as I had spent alot of time practising for the Word F-class championships to be held at Bisley. My hobby of pyrotechnics had to take a back seat..... The event took place and now its past, and the best thing is....... it all paid of! The GB shooting team won gold! ! I'm so happy that I was picked to shoot for GB and to take part.

All the best guys and gals

Lee

Well done lee - nice to hear someone doing well in another sport/hobby that is under pressure...

Yes there is a lot happening at UKPS - stuff you can see and stuff behind the scenes.

This board is financed and run by UKPS, but most of the contributors are not paid up members of UKPS. These are the people who are really enabling things to happen...

Anyway - welcome back!

A fellow shooter, excellent, great to see people winning at world class level.

It annoys me how sports such as this dont even get a mention on the news.

Well done and welcome back!

Because Nanny Brown does not want us to play rough games or we might graze our knees...

I've just come back from hols and had a great time (me, wife and 16 year old son) doing an introductory Clay Shoot in the Brecons. Enjoyed it so much, I'm going to try and get my own gun and do some shooting at a club about 30 miles away. I say try, as I don't know if it's harder to get a licence in London.

Incidentally the brilliant shooting ground we went to is under threat of closure (it's been in business over 20 years) because 2 incomers who live a mle away don't like the noise. It's in the middle of nowhere, shoots for 2 short days a week and uses only low-noise cartridges. Dispite all this the local council are supporting the prosecution (which if it goes though will loose a man his livelyhood) - makes you spit!!!!

I can`t see it being a problem getting a shotgun certificate/license in london Phil,...........as long as its locked away in a suitable case, and the cartridges are locked up elsewhere in your house,..... plus you have a club to join!

Also you must declare everything (traffic offences as well) when they do a security/police check, plus they will visit your premises!

Just ask for form "103" at your police station.

Here is a directory to search for a club near you!

Phil their are at least 4/5 clay shooting clubs within a couple of miles of where i live (including Holland & Holland) a friend of mine runs one so if you want to have a go i'd be happy to arrange it he's always asking me come down for a shoot, but i gave it up when i took my son and he spanked me using a 20 gauge on his first attempt.

I am thinking about getting a old black powder rifle thou at least those targets stay still

Phil, If you happen to be passing the Scottish Borders then let me know, I can take you out with a clay trap, box of clays and you can use my 5 shot 12g semi auto Benelli.
