Wedding Bells at full rrp is just as humorous as most other recent Men Shun & Bright Star SIBs, however if it can be picked up cheap then it does add a different dimension to those cat 3 displays that often comprise of mostly peony cakes. (The mines that are its main effect are extremely colourful)

JTF are stocking Bright Star Fireworks this year? If they are, judging by what I got at at shop in Preston last year with a Bright Star range, I would avoid as it's all weak Black Powder stuff same fireworks all really weak.

Sorry for the double post I didn't see the link in the first post. Thats definently re-branded Bright Star stuff some of it still just Bright Star, and they are selling bassically the exact same range as that shop in Preston last year.

If you go to a preview night thing and see for yourself then fair enough, but I wouldn't touch any of that stuff with a barge pole.

Another person who doesn't think highly of blackpowder stuff! :D
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

I don't suppose there will be many 'contributors' to a fireworks forum who will be happy with new spec v old spec situation - that's fairly obvious.

What is a more interesting discussion is, what will they do when 1.3 is not accessible to them? Stop buying fireworks altogether? - I think not.

I think that if (and I stress its a big IF) the performance of fireworks no longer justifies their price than most enthusiasts who use a site like this (myself included) may look into other options.

To be honest, most people who are active users of this site don't much buy Cat 2 and 3 anyway.

My own personal opinion is that some new spec 1.4G stuff is perfectly good, and I'll be using it in my displays.

The impression I get is that other people are less happy with it.

Just bought a few rocket packs from JTF. Do they have an all year round licence??? as I got these yesterday 26.09.09.

Ok so I bought Asteroid attack (4x ball head) £4.99 Space explorer (5x very small ball head) £3.99 and Firestorm fury (5x can headers)£2.99

I guess its all gonna be rubbish. So what i'm asking here is about these new regs (I'm not well up on these legal fireworks you understand)
What are the new regs? is it 20g neq in a rocket? coz if it is there cant be anything in the headers of these. What about Sky storm rocket pack at £14.99 for five? Why pay that much if there is still only 20grams neq? or is there still old stuff out there?

At £17.25 for 5 Sky Storms (or £14.99 if you are buying for busines use and claiming back VAT) thats poor value if they are current 1.4G spec.

As for "why pay that much" , well, people think "bigger is better."

I was gooseburying the JTF demo at Preston this evening, from the road, and to be fair some of the pieces looked pretty decent. They do a mixed colour crossette cake , which is quite pretty, and for new spec there is a bit of volume to them, too.

Check out the last line of the first post here! 120 DB limit thread...

I try to sit on the fence, but then the fence keeps breaking.....

But back on track---

There was certainly a bit of volume to them, thats for sure - certainly more so that other blackpowder stuff I've fired recently. However, it wasn't the really "booming" effect previous fireworks have sometimes had.

Not as loud as, for example, the old Triple H Bomb or Darkness Invaders.

I know David; only joking with you.

As time goes by and 'we' have less exposure to the old stuff I'm sure many people will acclimatise more to Blackpowder products and start to make comparisons from within rather than from without. Believe me, people (not old Floydy mind you Posted Image ) will start to consider the loudnes of new stuff to be.....dare I say.... quite adequate.

But please don't turn this into another rant!
