I use bp straight from the mill, no corning.
I believe most people use it from the mill, why do you corn it? Just out of interest.

of more interest is how you roll corned powder onto your carrier?
and why are you using pepper corns when rice crispies are the same size, cheaper and lighter?

Hi Sambo/cooperman,
the corned meal was the leftovers from graded out lift, usualy i use it for prime but this year ime making bigger shells,(only been making 2in and 3in hemis with chlorate stars and H3),i have tryed rice crispies as a carrier for H3 but found that they can get too soggy too quickly, ive found that whole black peppercorns are light, round and have a wrinkly surface that holds BP nicely when used in the star roller, they may be ok for cores for rolling stars but havnt got that far yet.
I have found that using a star roller may be a bit unorthodox but the peppercorns seperate nicely and dry a lot quicker than mixing up in a bowl.

Ahh, it makes more sense now. You are adding too much water to the crispies, when I do mine I spray them until they feel slightly damp to the touch and give off a rice crispy smell lol. Are you using any binder in your spray solution? If not the binder used when corning the bp may not be enough to make it stick to the carrier, a dextrin solution may be worth a try. I add my binder of choice to the mill dust and then "roll" it onto the crispies.
By the way a star roller is a popular method of adding burst to carrier.
I would have thought (depending on mesh size) the fines from corning would produce a faster burst than meal, all the extra surface area?
Back to the original question, yes mill dust is fine for coating carrier.
