This fertilaiser was useless in my Pyro Experiments

Experiment #1

KCL04 - 60

AlSulfate - 30

S - 10

Hypothesis: No reaction because actual mix is only 8.00 % Aluminum

Result: Failed Ignition

Experiment #2

KN03 - 60

AirFloat - 20

S - 10

AlSulfate - 10

Hypothesis: General Ignition mixture is almost that of black powder... Not sure what AlSulfate will add into this...

Result: Went up in a WOOSH... small piecies of AlSulfate flew everywere...

Overall Tests: Failure

Not sure what you were expecting aluminium sulphate doesn't do much reacting in pyrotechnics compositions.

Infact, i remembers something about magnesium sulphate being used with magnallium powder to make a "negative" explosive where the reducing chemical is strong enough to rip the oxygen of the sulphate. however Charcoal will not be a strong enough reducer.

I read that barium sulfate can be used as a high temperature oxidizer. However I followed a formula I read using it with Mg mixed 1:1 which failed miserably.

Usuing my simple mind.. i saw the word aluminum and since some fertalises contain pyro chems i assumed that it would act as a fuel i suppose.. Though i had no information to back this up.. it was fun trying.

Has any one tried to get ammonium nitrate and mix with oil it turns into a high explosive need a detonator thou never tried to make this because it is dangerous? I got it off a program on TV about fireworks and high explosives showing them blowing up old buildings and showing this explosive quite strong impact it made on the building. I just will stick to fireworks they are much better. :D

Word of advice.....don't post anything that refers to HE here.

In fact, don't post anything to do with HE at all.

The admins will be after you.....

This is no place for HE you should go to the E&W forum for that(if you know what I mean).

Firstly you break the forum rules, and secondly you wrongly state that ANFO is not a HE! I'm afraid I have no option but to formally warn you.

We do not talk about HE around here, It's strictly off limits.

<Beats head on brick wall>

If you didn't know (and it seems that way) - HE stands for High Explosive. Fireworks are low explosives. We talk about them here. We dont talk about HE here. Full stop.
