That is certainly true, although it's just a steady part of a long decline in the more traditional bonfire night habits.
It might make an interesting research project- the shift from the focus being on children and small scale backyard celebrations to the current "fill your car with fireworks and put on a big display" type of consumer.
Very true David,.....the thought police (our incredulous nanny state government) has a lot to answer for on many fronts,...hopefully with more members joining the ukps (more campaigns to delegate and manage), I think there is much we can do over the coming years to re-strengthen our back garden bonfire night traditions, but it will mean a lot of changes regarding health & safety, the law, and consumer habits etc.
