Seems most places that sold semi decent stuff last year like Cosmic are all heading towards TNT. If the range is anything like what ASDA have had the last few years it's going to dissapoint a lot of people.

Anybody know what Costco are doing this year? Ok its not quite a supermaket, but still....

Standard AGAIN.

They do have some nice candles on offer int he discount booklet, £3 off a pack, they are normally about 40% off RRP on fireworks so definately worth a look. They had the SIB by standard last year that was essentially collousus last year for £40.... bargains!

Picked up a Morrrisons leaflet at the weekend, I'm tempted to try a couple of the cakes but I don't know.

Is everything the supermarkets are selling this year 1.4G?

Ahhh... an interesting question!

Best thing is to wait until they are actually selling stuff, and work from there- one of the smarkets withdrew some rockets last year as they were 1.3G.

I'm confused, the stuff Morrisons are selling looks the same as always but is it all going to be really weak stuff?

A 100 shot cake for £5? Might be a pen lid I'm not sure but can't be much for that price surely.

Also TNT Fireworks have this thing about putting a sort of 'performance picture' on the side of some fireworks, with a picture of like a huge proffesional looking shell burst.

So people think 'wow', fire it and then oh dear, thats what happened to me with a candle from a TNT box I got from Asda a few years ago and looking at the Morrisons stuff they seem to have done it again.

wait for sundays specials, if i remember correctly, last year aldi's fireworks went on sale later than the other supermarkets

I have to say I can disagree with some over this BUT, I am happy to see some "entry level" fireworks on the market. Affordable cat2 stuff is what starts people on the road to smelling the smoke. Much of the supermarket BOGOF stuff is incredible value for money.

Some of us get our kicks from the thump of a shell leaving the tube. The general public will never fire shells, they enjoy the look of a firework when they have lit the fuse and retired to a safe distance.
