Damnit!

Weco are cool. I can't get enough of their new Diamond Sun wheels. Absolutely fantastic! They also have some of the best rockets out there.

Not sure what to make of that £50 selection box, or it's "noise level."

Well it clearly says "tremendous firepower" and "complete aerial display selection" so it must be true, we wouldn't want to see anyone using dodgy advertising would we !!!

I have fires several of the cakes in this pack from a TNT Brown Box (contents of split packs, returns etc. for not very much money) and they are OK for small size fireworks. That said last year I did fire 3 of the 16 shot Party Times and 6 of the 6 shoters all at the same time as a mid-display section for a small friends display - at those prices that was about £60 of fireworks - this pack would be adequate value as a buy 1 get 4 free offer!!! at full price and not event on BOGOF it is mad pricing.

This year the supermarkets all seem to have gone for TNT and a pretty poor selection of their range at that. This looks to be the worst year ever for buying from non-specialist firework shops. Glad I already have all I need for this year, though I may try a couple of the Lidl fireworks just to see how they compare wih last years Benstar cakes (anyone know what the Sky Jubilee and Colour Explosion are like?). No new spec rockets for me this year !

It's the nature of the beast. Supermarkets typically stock similar ranges (when compared wth other supermarkets.)

There is also little regional variety, so a (eg) Tosco in Bath will be idenical to a Tosco in Birkenhead.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Yeah, there is only so much that can be done with a rocket at new spec 1.4G.

Hey guys, i am also pi**ed of with the fact that most supermarkets are sellin tnt. Would you say DRD are better than tnt? just i can get hold of some of there stuff really cheap compared to rrp e.g £100 streetwise box for £30, cakes rrp £80 for £20, i no DRD are nowhere near the best quality you can get hold of but is it better than tnt?

Personally, from what I've seen of both brands, I'd say TNT was better.

Streetwise Box avoid! I've had one before it was crap. I think TNT and DRD are as bad as each other.

All the crap aside, i think Aldi are offering better value than ASDA, the barrage box from Aldi is £20 compared to the one in asda where you get an extre firework for £50...judging by the pictures supplied the contents look quite similar, likewise with their rockets....

Terminal Velocity pack at Aldi, 16 pack of rockets for £9.99 compared to the starfire rockets at asda which are £15 for 4 or 2 for £20. Again from the pictures provided they look similar in size, i know it's what's under the packaging that counts but since they're the same brand i would expect similar types of effects.

just my 2p
