Sounds similar to last year, probably the best range in any of the supermarkets last year if I remember right. They had a 'maximum impact range' of 2 cakes, 1 at £60 and 1 sat £80.

I heard that Argos are going to sell fireworks this year, are they feeling the pinch and diversifying?
I don't know if they will be the same fireworks as Homebase who are part of the same group.

My local Sainbury's had all their fireworks cabinets out today - no fireworks in them yet
but they did have what they were going to be selling on a flip chart thing.

Everything up to £60 is bogof - then they have a £60 cake and an £80 cake/s ...

I find this interesting, firstly they think everyone wants 2 of everything under £60, which could be useful on say sparklers.

And nothing they are going to sell is even worth Half the price they are selling it for. This is a suspicion obviously, but i`ll bet its correct!!!

Just seen the firework counter out in my local Morrisons, they had the leaflets out so grabbed a few, largely similar to last year with a few changes, noted the leaflets state on the front 'new and improved effects'.

When is it that non-all year round shops can start selling fireworks from again? I seem to recall last year it was around 23 October but it may have been earlier than that.

I think this is because a lot of their customer base is the easily impressed lower middle class types, who would by a pigs plonker dipped in dog muck if it was offered "Buy one Get one Free" at Tesburies.

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

Thanks the the info! Will be going to asda today so I will see if they have anything :)

Oh also, seasonals around here usually open few days before the 23rd if I remember correctly. I don't seem to remember any of them opening right on the start date (for selling pyro).

True- a lot of places wait until nearer the 5th before they start selling.

Fireworks were out on display in our local Morrisons yesterday, not leaflets available though. Also our sainsburys have their stuff out but again no leaflets available, Asda has nothing at all out yet not even a sign. Not sure about Tesco but would be could if someone could post when they see them!

15th October, eh? That's a bit earlier than I thought. Will be keeping my eyes peeled. Don't really get many supermarket fireworks (perhaps some filler stuff, and am also doing a second, smaller display this year so may get stuff for that from supermarkets), but I must admit I still enjoy looking at what they've got. That probably makes me a bit sad!

Think the best fireworks I've ever had from a supermarket were Lidl's in 2008 - the Blue Apollo rockets were great value for money, as were the two cakes (I believe they were called Cosmos and Halley's Comet). Lidl's selection last year, however (TNT), was pretty poor.

Netto have now got their range in their Thursday offers (advertised as available from Friday): http://viewer.zmags....c2f#/f0a4fc2f/4

Bit disappointed with their range this year, still Standard but they seem to have gone down the tesco route of buy 2 for £10/£20/£30. There selection also seems to be not as good value as past years, eg this year their cheapest cake is 2 for £20 or £12 each called Infinity which is 30 shots. Whereas last year you could get standards Space fight (which was a brilliant cake) for just £2.49. The only thing that I think looks OK from their is that mine for £2.50 although I bet that isnt much good either!

Just wondering if anyone has any information from Tescos range this year? I have just been looking at last years leaflet and I want to buy a cheap selection box from some were to let off before my actual display (main fireworks are in the firework warehouse topic). I only want to spend about £5 and the box that tesco had last year would be ideal if they have it this year. 13 fountains, 4 roman candles and three wheels. I know they will be crap but to be honest it will just be me and maybe one or two others watching before our main display. There just to get me in the mood really :D.

Be great if anyone had any info, or leaflets would be 10x better!
