Did a quick "sweep" of some supermarkets. Just worse than ever, by the look of it. If there is a decent all year round shop in your town, go there. That said, some "all year round" shops do themseleves no favour -went past one that was shuttered up , at just gone 5pm, on a Saturday 2 weeks before bonfire night. Their call, I guess.

But yeah, thats that.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

I can't speak for where you live, but I have seen a couple of seasonal shops- or rather shops that open seasonally every year. I think the risk (and its a big risk) is that what they are selling at the new spec 1.4G could be really really bad. Yes, don't get me wrong- some 1.4G is good now- but there is still an awful lot of utter rubbish out there.

There are at least half a dozen good specialists within easy enough reach, soat this stage I wouldn't risk a seasonal any more.

the only exception would be a brand I know and trust- Kimbolton, Brothers etc- but is rare to see those at seasonals. Stuff like Bulldog, DRD and even Standard etc (with no disrespect intended) I just don't know what I'm getting.

Our Tesco and the other supermarkets don't seem to be selling any thats mainly due to the firefighters strike and the authorities warning people not to buy any and go to an organised display well did not put me off I got mine at Lidl and Falcon fireworks

Direct advice is if you can, go to a specialist. Especially this year, as supermarkets have made a load of money from the Virus! There does seem to be a difference in quality between the good brands and the supermarket brands. Open for discussion if anyone has any ideas!
