Hi All,

Seems I can't get any good deals around the Leicester area so I will broaden my horizons.

I have to go up to Warrington on Thursday so my appeal goes out to any kindly shop owners up that way.

It's my sons Birthday on the 9th so we always tie his Birthday in with Bonfire Night.

I have a budget of around £75, so if any of you kindly souls can offer me a good deal pack for an
evening of fireworks I will be eternally grateful.

Look forward to your replies.

There is this shop...

They post on UKFR, I'm sure they will sort you out, give them an e-mail. :)

Yeah- it's worth checking out UKFR and saying hello to them there- they might do you a deal!

Cantilever Car Centre, 1a, Station Road, Latchford, Warrington, WA41JT Its a garage but they always have a very large selection of big fireworks! Infact he has two big blue shipping containers on the lot that the backup stock is kept in.

I bought a dancing red devil destroyer rocket from him the other week. Its rather large with a 4" ball shell headder and a stick like a broom handle. I weighed it at the time but have forgotten the exact weight but it was well over 300grams.

He also had some big rocket box sets that he showed me in the catalogue with RRP £120 that he was selling for £40 So might be worth a look. He has a very big selection in large display cabinets.

Excuse the cynicism, but do be aware that catalogue RRPs may have no real baring on the value of an item.

I know that David. I also know that there might be more air in the headders than a bag of dorito's from an airport vending machine but to be fair the box looked better than anything I have seen in a supermarket!

Maybe I'll pop in tomorrow and get the details then you can give me your expert opinion of their value?

Just thinking, back to the original point, are you driving to Warrington? A drive from Leicester to Warrington will offer some good shops on route!

Is it the Dancing Red Devil "streetwise?"

I honestly can't remember David but if I get chance I'll take a look tomorrow. Mind you he might have sold out of that line now.

Maxman, i get hold or DRD stuff cheaper than what they are selling to you, and that destroyer rocket in my opinion is a ball of hot air m8 i doubt if u took it apart you would find a shell any bigger than 1.5 inch inside. And as for their boxes the streetwise, bat, wizard are all garbage m8 dnt bother with em. however the cheetah and panther have small cakes in them so might be worth a few quid for 1 ov them. They wont be great but for the money might be worth it.

I used to like Dancing Red Devil, theres a few well advertised Dancing Red Devil seasonals open in Preston this year and judging by some of the crap in their range, there may well be a lot of dissapointed families this year.

Especially as they seem to like advertising themselves as 'the best'. The shop I went in last year, the salesman didn't know what a Portfire was.

Everyone likes to claim to be "the best," it's such a subjective term that it can be applied to almost anything (in marketing!)

I haven't seen any supermarkets advertising their stuff as 'the best' but fair enough.

I was think more generally like "Gilette, the best a man can get" or "probably the best lager in the world" and "yo won't get better than a kwik fit fitter" etc!

Hi All,

Yes David, I will be driving there.

Will go up the M1 to J24 then go up the A50 to Stoke, then take the M6 the rest of the way.

If anyone is en route then please let me know.

Thanks to everyone that has replied, it seems I can certainly do better than our local rob dogs. :D
