3" Cardboard Tubes

I'm wondering if they would be good enough to use as mortars for 3" shells, if not they would do for bag mines, right? I can get loads more too, might as well recycle if I can.
Also, what's the ideal wall thickness for a 2" cardboard mortar? I'm desperately hunting for some.

The Dimensions Essex Tube Windings state for their stock mortar tubes are.
50mm ID 9mm Wall, 381mm Long
75mm ID 12mm Wall, 457mm Long
I used to use HDPE Gas or Water pipe from the utilities companies scrap pile for 2" tubes. They are good for all shells with the exception of maroons. Although I have fired a 50mm salute in one upside down as a test and it splits and looks like a dog chewed it up but it did not fragment. Best stick to card for salutes.
If you need to buy 50mm Card, here are Essex Tube Windings details.

I've just come into possession of some 3" ID cardboard tubes, 690mm long, with an 11mm wall thickness. They are spiral wound.

They sound fine for mortars, worth drying and then varnishing/waxing if you want them to last. I've got a handful of 2" waxed paper mortars surplus to requirements, PM me if you're interested.
