I recently entered a small programming competition in which one had to write a simulated firework show in 3 days.
This is my entry: (here) (run NewEve.exe), it's more or less a minute long.

I thought it might be of interest in this forum, i also thought i could get some nice feedback on the fireworks (what should i change, or what i did right). :)

Btw, Happy New Year to all!

Good work on the sim, I liked it so much I tried to turn into a screen saver on vista by changing the exe file to scr it did work but no sound or loop.

Maybe you could tweak it and make it a UKPS screen saver?
Freud. Artists, in this view, are people who may avoid neurosis and perversion by sublimating their impulses in their work.

Glad you liked it! :)
I wrote it in C++ using the allegro library.

I'll see what can be done, shouldn't take long. :)

Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?mj3iid2jzlg :)

Basically i've embended the sounds in the executables, made it loop, and abort on keypressed or mouse movement.
