I apologise for bringing up another forum here, but I know there are members here that are there, as well.

When I tried to access the site, I'm getting a go daddy page, and pop up ads that have zero to do w/the site.

Anyone know or heard anything?

Thanks.

Crikey, doesn't look too good!
Freud. Artists, in this view, are people who may avoid neurosis and perversion by sublimating their impulses in their work.

Yeah, it's a domain thing. I only own and manage the hosting and software itself. Another person who I started APC with still runs the domain. I've been on him for years to hand it over, but he always just pays it. He ran into some trouble this time as his e-mail address he set it up with was a hotmail type one, that was disabled for not logging in. He probably forgot his password and can't get into the e-mail account to get it. He said he was going to call them and get it all figured out last night, but I never heard anything.

I have a backorder in on the domain, so if it fully defaults it will be all mine. I think after this I will make sure to get it transfered over.

Since it is just a DNS issue and the hosting is still all up and running, can you tell us the server IP so we can create a hosts entry?

Obviously there won't be much activity since most people won't be able to access it, but at least we could get our daily APC fix :)

Wouldn't you know I have a trade working w/a member there. Nothing big- just some of my pot benz for some of his fine mesh Ti- I've already shipped to to him, but don't know if he's shipped to me yet.

I'm not sweating it- but I would like to reach him to see if the forum going down has had any negative effect on his end.

That is the IP of the machine that hosts the "This domain is about to expire" website.

We need to know the IP of the machine that Mumbles is running.

Since it is probably running on shared hosting, it also wouldn't simply be a case of browsing to the IP address (because it wouldn't know which vhost you want). You will need to edit your hosts file (c:\windows\system\drivers\etc\hosts under windows) and add an entry for apcforum.net

I still haven't heard anything definitive from the guy who runs the domain, and it's getting me a bit frustrated. Technically I can still get to the forum itself through the IP address and some folder strings, but as soon as I try to log in it redirects me back to "apcforum.net" and I'm lost again, so you have to re-insert the ip address for every new page you want to go to, and you can't post. I'll see if I can do what mike suggests, and I'll post the ip address if I can get it to work.

Spanner, if you send me a pm here, I can give you the member in question's e-mail address

A quick google actually turns up the address.

70.86.182.98 for anyone that wants it.

I seems to be getting a 404 Error on that address. and now the Apc page says: "NOTICE: This domain name expired on 02/10/2010 and is pending renewal or deletion"

Just browsing to the IP address wont work.

You need to create or edit your hosts file (C:\windows\system\drivers\etc\hosts) and add the line:

70.86.182.98 www.apcforum.net

maybe as a temporary option you could register a new domain name to point to your server.
