hi this might sound dumb but im new to pyro, where can i buy stars (mainly tiger tail) in the uk

You may not buy live firework components in the UK. There were some on ebay once but......

Make them have a look on pyroguide there you will find detailed instructions for manufacture of stars, TT is a very very simple composition, far more satisfying

Anything pyro that looks or is unsafe gets pulled from ebay quite quickly.

I see a lot of firework chemicals on ebay most of the time including german black aluminium and some oxidizers not so much on the uk site but loads on the USA site is it legal to buy and have sent to yu?

International transport for active chemicals is very problematic so it's usually very expensive if done properly. Most USA based suppliers will not send outside their "lower48 states" Not Alaska and not Hawaii mostly there's NO chance of a trader sending stuff abroad from there.

Better to make them yourself. It's a bit tricky at the beginning, but you'll have to learn it anyway, if you want to become a real pyrotechnician.

Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii really doesn't take anything more than adding a sticker on the box. It does however take quite a bit longer. What might take a week to the lower 48, might take 6 weeks to 3 months to get to Alaska or Hawaii. It has to go by boat, and they wait for there to be a full load.

No there is no one selling 'ready to use' stars...... but there is a star kit or more than 1 star kit using magnalium? on ebay sellers name is 'Bangkok pyro' (0ne word or 2 im not sure) .....looks like a complete set of chems with instructions but no oxidizer....... also Skylighter website has some star kits too but don't think they wil send to uk
