i am currently waiting for some visco 15m,
when i receive it i will tell you the suppliers details, or if you want it now just ask.
i dont want to give out the details yet incase he is not true & i dont want a whole bunch of people to get scammed because of me giving out wrong info.

i will update when i get/dong get the fuse.

Hi is this a big company or some one you know ho is selling the fuse? I cant fined any were that sells visco from the US and UK in the US the say cant sell for safety reasons hop these are not bad ones need visco fuse a lot.

Why don't you try to find Bickford safety fuse, which is far more likely to be available than the American product Visco?

Has anyone used PIC (plastic igniter cord) and if so, what are the pro's and con's of using it ?

Personly I'd use any of them, if only I could get hold of some at a reasonably price!

I use PIC for pretty much all my pyro, sometimes I use blackmatch though but PIC is way more reliable.

Pros -
Very Very reliable burn rate
Totally waterproof (even if you remove the plastic coating)
Burns underwater (not that thats exactly a pro if you are being 'sensible')
Its bendable and won't snap/crack (you can pretty much tie knots in the stuff) and it holds the shape you bent it to.
Gives/takes fire easily
Burns hot (well, hotter than blackmatch anyway)
Wrap it in foil and you've got go getters (of a sort)
And it smells nice

Cons-
The green variety which I use has a pretty fast burn rate so it can get a bit expensive.
You end up with very black fingers/thumbs from lighting the stuff.

One way round both those problems is to use bits of kitchen towel soaked in KNO3 soln attached to the end of the fuse (easily done as PIC has a thin peice of wire running down the side of it inside the plastic cover). This gives a cheap delay and means that you dont end up with charred fingers.

It's suprisingly easy to get supplies if you have a legit use for them. In high power rocketry I go through many metre's of quickmatch, bickford, PIC, green visco etc.

Many companies however, will not sell to joe bloggs, as at the end of the day they have a professional reputation and a track record to protect.

I guess you just have to phone them up and ask, blag it a bit, and if they believe you then your in, if not, try somewhere else...

Has anyone tried to make "Homemade Visco" by injecting BP paste into a hollow-cored string using a hobby syringe? And if so, was it successful? (burn rate etc.)

I was thinking of giving this a go but can't find any hollow cored string!
