Just to update, this was a very enjoyable evening. Not only some very impressive fireworks in a really nice setting, but also a interesting update on some new and soon to be introduced legislation, a nice buffet, and best of all, blackjacks and fruit salad mix.
Also got to meet a couple of people from Lewes firework society, got Aqua fireworks explained to me by the chap who does the Hastings display. I even got to meet the father of firework insurance Roy Musk, who is going to give me a quote on van insurance... I wonder if he insures bikes ?

Is this all the new (2013 - 2017) CE and Kitemarking legislation and moving inline with the 'one' Europe?

CE 2013/2017 we're certainly mentioned, as was supply numbers, and third party training.

As a firer i try not to concern myself with legislation, the chap i fire for tends to take care of that, so i must confess the black jacks and fruit salads got more of my attention at this point. However from the bits that i did get the general drift of, BS numbers are changing and CS numbers are now the in thing, supply numbers seem to be some sort of product identification, and third party training is wat it says on the tin: people working on displays will need third party training as opposed to 'in house training'.

Perhaps a new thread in legal/training and getting jobs might be an idea.

third house training  that seem worrying. sound expensive (sounds like a way for bpa / highlight (illminate) to make a lot of money.

so does this mean all the people that have 20 odd years experience will have to take exams / training to prove they are safe  that going to make a lot of unhappy people

Third party, but yes it seems that way, if this becomes law they'll be be a fair few people with 40+ years experience that have to take a course.... silly but true.
