Indeed these are without parallel. I know the maker well and the effort and time that goes into these has to be seen to be believed. He is a gentleman of great modesty who does not like the title Master. Many of the headings take hours apiece merely to load the components. Stars are individually positioned with tweezers, timefuse intervals are cut to 1/32 of an inch. Oddly enough, aside from the aqua star there are no secret formulae, in fact they are almost all published and he will show anyone how to do these - it is all down to the most careful technique, discipline and time. There are chefs and there are cordon bleu chefs....

yes the precision is amazing, but were not talking about going to the moon here, we have chemicals, we have kraft, we have formula, we have technique, but do we have the get up and go?

saw this yesterday excellent work, that fusing technique is very imaginative it must be a challenge on its own.
how long would it take to make 64 rockets of this size and quality without being noticed here?
probably a lifetime's work to perfect with or without shackles.

I think more of us would be making rockets and shells like that or better if we had the resources to learn how. Unfortunately for those of us in Canada, Australia and other countries where it is nearly impossible to get any kind of chemicals (even hydrogen peroxide of over 15%, I kid you not) most of our resources are spent on the learning curve than actually making great pyro.

I believe this is that annual secret `Desertblast` meeting by invitation only

No, this is the legendary Florida Pyrotechnic Arts Group (FPAG) Fabulous Fall Firework Festival (4-F) event. You could be forgiven for thinking this was Desert Blast, however, because FPAG is nearly as secretive. If you visit their web site it's basically a single page that says "leave us a message, maybe we'll get back to you". There are a lot of seriously skilled makers in FPAG.

Desert Blast, as such with the original group, hasn't been held for over ten years now, but Western Pyrotechnic Association holds a secret desert event by invitation only, no details of which are ever shared with the public. I could say when and where it is, but then I'd have to kill you.
