Hmmm, wish i could get Bags of the stuff... went to some ag supplier near here... nothing. One of them had it in liquid form at 10% i think for around $30 p/ 10 gallon drum.
Let your fingers do the walking instead...
Try calling places in the Sydney area, and you're bound to find somewhere that'll ship it to you. A bit of looking should find it for under $1.40/kg in 25kg bags.

That is about the right price and it works fine. Its likley to be 13. 0. 38 as most of the Ag grade seems to be. I re-crystalise 2 or 3 times as can aford to loose 10~ 20 % at that price.
I was going to recrystalise it about 5 times to get it very pure you don't have a solubility chart for KNO3 do you.

If you're only making BP You don't need to re-crystalise it, it will be fine.. makes great lift when corned/granulated with 10% dextrin..

Well it seems many people have trouble making reliable/good BP so I thought I should use the best ingredients I can make/get

To make reliable CONSISTANT BP you need good scales, and definatly a ball mill..
