Hmmm, wish i could get Bags of the stuff... went to some ag supplier near here... nothing. One of them had it in liquid form at 10% i think for around $30 p/ 10 gallon drum.
my friend: What's that?

me: It's a fuse.

my friend: Oh.

Let your fingers do the walking instead...

Try calling places in the Sydney area, and you're bound to find somewhere that'll ship it to you. A bit of looking should find it for under $1.40/kg in 25kg bags.

I managed to find a 25kg bag of KNO3 for $38 but still need to go and get it, I'm thinking it could be fairly impure, $38 for 25kg is very cheap. It says to use 1gram per litre of water.
I picked this up from a Nursery Supplies place.

most fertilisers are impure, but they still make great BP.

That is about the right price and it works fine. Its likley to be 13. 0. 38 as most of the Ag grade seems to be. I re-crystalise 2 or 3 times as can aford to loose 10~ 20 % at that price.

I get mine from "Thrifty Link" Hardware store. They have 2.5 kilo bags for $6.80. Im not sure if they stock it every store though. Before i looked there i got it at a nursery, 500g for $7.00.

I was going to recrystalise it about 5 times to get it very pure you don't have a solubility chart for KNO3 do you. :)

If you're only making BP You don't need to re-crystalise it, it will be fine.. makes great lift when corned/granulated with 10% dextrin..

Well it seems many people have trouble making reliable/good BP so I thought I should use the best ingredients I can make/get :)

To make reliable CONSISTANT BP you need good scales, and definatly a ball mill..
