im working in Ohio for the next few weeks. i was discussing our hobby with a colleague and he has access to open land, has a fire arms licence and was interested in going through a few experiments
does any know the legal issues out here? i certainly don't want to end up on the wrong side of the law out here as a guest.
also i was wondering if there are any local members and how to get some small quantities of chemicals out here if i can experiment.

my colleague already has various firearms licenses and is allowed to black powderer, smokeless powers etc. i'm guessing if there are local sociality he might just be adding another licence to his belt.

I'm not familiar in US law, but I was under the impression that the federal law was relatively lenient for small-scale manufacture if the items are not stored and are used on site. I'm sure one of the clubs I linked to would be happy to clarify. Not a massive amount of US members here, I can recommend amateurpyro.com if you want to seek advice from US pyros.

Usually yes as I understand it, but transport and storage etc. apparently cause problems. The main hitch seems to be local state laws. Passfire.com is good for Q&As on all this stuff but I'm fairly sure their advice would be to temporarily join a local club.

his licences are around the making of ammunition, so not quite the same as pyrotechnic devices.
