I am sorry to say that apart from a few choreographed bits on the Milennium wheel, I thought it was an uncoordinated mess.

Kimbolton fired the show and it was fantastic, not as brilliant as last year but still a smashing show.

I'm pleased they managed to step away from the old and now cliched use of the millennium wheel.

Colours were fantastic. Pinks, Purples and Aquas.

i quite liked it but then if i had the millions god knows budget that was spent on it and the millions of cues firing system they have access to then shows like this become so much easier to design.

has anyone noticed kimbolton seem to be getting a lot of displays just lately, especially the big ones. it funny how a lot of money can soon make big accidents just be forgotten.

so what was the outcome of the kimbolton accident , did they get fined or taken to court or prison ?

im sure they learnt valuable lessons but Im mealy stating any normal company would not get one of the biggest contracts in the uk with a accident record like that. its hard enough to get a contract as big as that with a perfect record and proven ability. but its not hard to know who's got the Olympics display

each to there own but are you saying you would give a major contract to a company that had a major accident like that.

Having an opinion as to wether they should get high profile contracts is one thing, insinuations are another.

There are very few companies with the logistical capabilities to undertake such a display

accidents will always occur ie why do many people die in road traffic accidents? . At the end of the day its down to risk management . The question is was anyone negligent??. There is a massive difference between negligence and human error . Who is there on this forum who has never made a mistake?. Everything ive seen of Kimboulton has been of the highest standard . This isnt the first posting of this type ive seen on the forum The last one was a personal attack on a forum member for his previous mistakes That forum was locked ,so I didnt have the opportunity to add my comment that having worked with him on a show for starsky72 I found him to be a safe knowledgeable dedicated superb impeccable choice of team leader . Is this a pyrotechnics forum or is it cr*p on anyone corner???

I agree there's probably only 8 companies in the uk that have the capabilities to undertake a job like that and it was a fantastic display. just surprises me they get all the big contracts after all that happened. just would be nice to see other companies have the chance. last year MLE put a bid for the NYE display now that's a display i would like to see.

nothing bad being pointed to the rev, in fact i have the greatest of respect to the rev, i dont think he has much involvement in the company any more (i have no idea), nor has anything i said from the ukps, this is a open forum is it not, i have only said to get major contracts like that is surprising from what iv read from the HSE findings but that's only a opinion. But its not to put kimbolton down, as i said it was a fantastic display.

It was never my intention to slate Ron or Kimbolton. I didn't know who did the display until I asked and my personal opinion was that I think it was messy. Everyone has their own opinion of what they like and don't like display wise. In my opinion they have done better. As far as the accident argument is going. I do not have enough details to be able to comment one way or another.

I thinks its more the fact he has run that company for 47 years, show me any companies accident book of 47 years and will they be able to say there has been NO accidents? I doubt it, If a younger company slates this accident rate of a 47 y/o company then that is very foolish in my opinion and jus invites karma to bite you on the A**

Thank you Icarus, it was a pleasure to have you as part of the display team.

As for the negativity toward KBF, they brought the show back home so to speak, i'd rather have a UK based company take the reigns from the like of Groupe F etc purely because thats how it should be!

Regardless of previous incidents, the investigative authorities reprimanded KBF adequately. The resulting investigation pushed the UK fireworks industry massively forward in terms of adequate and safe equipment. In my opinion KBF would be the ones at the forefront of benefitting from their mistake putting them in a very good position to tender. Learning from mistakes is not a concept everybody seems to grasp however.......

Keep up the good work, two of the best Lonfon NYE displays I have seen that's for sure, we have already seen innovation in use of Big Ben (By the way anybody notice the microphone feeding the chimes picked up all the single shots and mines firing from the tower?!)

Forum needs a 'like' button.............. Excellent comment.

I give you that one, everybodys expectations and appreciations are different, I once commented 'constructively' on an MLE display, it was my own opinion but it pissed a few people off........
